TideWe Blind Review: Which TideWe Blind Is Right for You?

Key Takeaway

TideWe makes affordable see-through ground blinds that let you watch through the walls while deer can't see in. For most hunters, the Vis360 is the pick for deer: it switches between 270° and full 360° visibility and weighs about 17 lb. If you want the lowest price, the VisST and VisX are compact 2–3 person blinds that start around $100–$125. Hunting with family or a camera person? Step up to the VisMax, VisMaster or the huge VisTrilogy. Every TideWe blind has the same weak spots, though. The stakes are flimsy, the see-through fabric lets wind and scent through, and none of them have a floor. Budget a few dollars for better stakes and you'll be in good shape.

My Thoughts

I'll admit, before digging into this, I thought a ground blind was just a camo tent with some windows. Little did I know that the biggest change in blinds over the last few years is see-through mesh walls. From the inside you can see through the fabric almost like a window screen, but from the outside it looks solid. That means you're not stuck staring out of one small window, waiting for a deer to wander into your exact view.

TideWe has built its whole blind lineup around that idea. They have six see-through models, so the question isn't really "Is a TideWe blind any good?" It's "Which one should I buy?" So I dug into the specs, the prices and over a thousand customer reviews to sort it out.

Background: Who Is TideWe?

TideWe is an outdoor brand that makes hunting gear: blinds, chairs, waders, heated clothing and more. They're known for pricing gear well below the big names, and the reviews mostly back that up. TideWe holds about 4.4 out of 5 stars on Trustpilot from roughly 1,400 reviews, and most of their blinds score around 4.8 stars on their own site.

Every TideWe blind I looked at has 270° one-way see-through walls, a pop-up hub design that sets up in a few minutes, and a carrying bag.

The TideWe Vis360: Best Ground Deer Blind

Check price on the TideWe Vis360

  • Capacity: 2–3 people
  • Size: 58" × 58" floor, 66" tall
  • Weight: about 17 lb
  • Fabric: 300D
  • See-through: switches between 270° and full 360°
  • Windows: 10 (1 rectangular, 9 trapezoidal), swing door
  • Price: around $150–$170

What I like: The Vis360 is the only TideWe blind that sees in every direction. Deer don't always come from where you expect, and being able to see behind you without turning around and making noise is a real advantage. When you don't need the full view, you can switch back to 270° and keep your back covered. Ten window openings give you plenty of shooting lanes for a rifle or crossbow.

What could be better: At around $150–$170, it costs more than the basic 2–3 person models. The 66" height is also on the shorter side, so taller hunters drawing a bow may feel cramped. Look at the VisMaster if standing room matters.

The TideWe VisX and VisMax: Best Pop-Up Blind for Most Budgets

Check price on the TideWe VisX / VisMax

  • VisX: 2–3 people, 58" × 58" × 66", 13–17 lb, around $100–$180
  • VisMax: 3–4 people, 70" × 70" × 80", 19–22 lb, around $145–$180
  • Three full see-through panels and a D-shaped zipper door
  • Choice of lighter 150D or tougher 300D fabric

What I like: This is the flexible pick. The VisX is light enough to carry a good distance to your spot, and the VisMax gives you an extra 14 inches of headroom and room for a second hunter. You can also choose your fabric. 150D is lighter to carry, and 300D holds up better to brush, branches and seasons of use.

What could be better: A zipper door is noisier than the magnetic door on the VisST. Zip it slowly, and zip it before the deer show up.

The TideWe VisST: Best Budget Blind

Check price on the TideWe VisST

  • Capacity: 2–3 people
  • Size: 58" × 58" floor, 66" tall
  • Weight: 13–16 lb
  • See-through: 1 full panel and 2 half panels (the Pro version makes both sides adjustable)
  • Silent magnetic door and 3 noise-free sliding windows
  • Price: around $105–$125

What I like: The silent magnetic door. You can slip in and out without the zipper sound that can spook a nearby deer. It's also one of the cheapest and lightest blinds in the TideWe lineup, and it scores 4.8 stars from almost 300 reviews.

What could be better: You only get one fully see-through wall, so your view is more limited than the other models. A few owners also say the window flaps slide open on their own and that it's "not as see thru as the pic shows."

The TideWe VisMaster: Best for Bowhunters and Standing Room

Check price on the TideWe VisMaster

  • Capacity: 3–4 people
  • Size: 70" × 70" floor, 80" tall
  • Weight: about 25 lb
  • See-through: 3 full and 3 half panels
  • Full-access door and 6 windows, including a rear window
  • Price: around $190–$230

What I like: 80 inches of height means most hunters can stand up and draw a bow without hitting the roof. It also has the most see-through panels of any model besides the Vis360, and the full-access door makes it easier to get chairs and gear inside.

What could be better: At 25 lb and up to about $230, it's the heaviest and most expensive 3–4 person option. If you're walking a long way to your stand, that weight adds up.

The TideWe VisTrilogy: Best for Groups and Families

Check price on the TideWe VisTrilogy

  • Capacity: 4–6 people
  • Size: 58" × 116" floor, 66" tall
  • Weight: 30–33 lb
  • Three full see-through panels and 6 windows
  • Price: around $190

What I like: It's basically two blinds side by side. That makes the VisTrilogy great for taking kids hunting, bringing a camera person along, or setting up a long-term spot on a food plot.

What could be better: At 30+ lb, it's not something you'll want to carry far. It's also the same 66" height as the smaller models, so there's lots of floor space but not much headroom.

Pair It With: The TideWe Heated Hunting Chair

Check price on the TideWe Heated Hunting Chair

A blind keeps you hidden, but it doesn't keep you warm. The TideWe Heated Hunting Chair has heated pads in the seat and back with three heat levels, powered by a 10,000mAh battery.

  • Runtime: up to 10 hours on low, 5 on medium, 3 on high
  • 360° silent swivel
  • Adjustable seat height from 17.5" to 22.2", with independently adjustable legs
  • Holds up to 350 lb
  • Price: around $200

What I like: The silent 360° swivel pairs perfectly with a see-through blind, especially the Vis360. You can turn toward a deer without the chair squeaking. The adjustable legs also help on uneven ground, which is most ground in the woods.

What could be better: Three hours on high isn't a full morning sit, so keep it on low or carry a spare battery. Some owners also say it has more plastic than they'd expect for $200, that the mesh can feel cool in very cold weather, and that the seat could be a few inches wider for bigger hunters.

What Could Be Better Across Every TideWe Blind

  • The stakes are flimsy. This is the most common complaint. Reviewers say the included stakes bend in hard ground and don't hold in the wind. Plan on buying a set of heavier stakes.
  • See-through walls let wind, rain and scent through. The roofs are waterproof, but the mesh walls aren't fully sealed. Pay attention to wind direction so your scent doesn't drift toward the deer.
  • No floor. You're sitting on the ground, so bring a mat or chair.
  • Folding them back into the bag takes practice. Several owners said this was the hardest part. Watch a folding video before your first trip.

Which TideWe Blind Is For You?

Skip TideWe if you need a blind that's fully sealed against heavy wind and rain, or if you plan to leave a blind out in the elements for a full season. A hard-sided or insulated hub blind is a better fit for that.

Closing Thoughts

Going into this, I expected six blinds that were basically the same tent in different sizes. Instead, each TideWe blind solves a slightly different problem. The Vis360 sees everything, the VisST keeps things quiet and cheap, and the VisTrilogy brings the whole family. None of them are perfect. Swap out those stakes on day one. But for the price, TideWe gives you a lot of blind for your money.

You can see every TideWe blind here, and if you hunt in the cold, take a look at the TideWe Heated Hunting Chair too.
